A Luxe Affair: The Fusion of Art, Food and Whisky For The Macallan M Collection Launch in Nigeria

Do you appreciate the finer things in life? If so, we have a perfect menu recommendation for you, inspired by an unforgettable evening that seamlessly blended sophistication, contemporary art, exquisite cuisine, and ultra-premium whisky.

Visualize stepping into a black-tie affair, engulfed by an atmosphere radiating elegance. As you engage with other enthusiasts of art and culture, you are drawn in by the captivating display of modern and contemporary art pieces, meticulously curated to ignite your senses. The Art Hotel, famous for its refined environment and outstanding service, offered the perfect realistic setting for this extraordinary event on June 2, 2023.

What truly distinguished this evening was the single malt whisky, The Macallan M — a 2022 limited edition collection that includes The Macallan M, a champion of natural amber hue; The Macallan M Black, a tribute to mastery and unwavering trust in craft; and The Macallan M Copper, an homage to the Curiously Small Stills — all celebrating the brand's six pillars.

Celebrated Chef Wole Oluwole Oshinloye of The Art Hotel curated a three-course meal designed to impeccably complement the sophisticated range of whiskies. The enchanting pairings still have us in awe. Here's how the most discerning palates were thrilled at the exclusive unveiling of the M Collection.

The Enchanting Prelude

Firstly, guests savored the vibrant flavors of a Gourmet Duck Salad, masterfully prepared by Chef Wole Oluwole Oshinloye. This splendid dish featured succulent duck served on a bed of hand-selected salad greens, accompanied by ripe garden-fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions. The salad was finished with a delicate avocado puree and dressed with The Macallan Double Cask 12 Years Old dressing. This whisky impeccably complemented the flavors of the dish, adding an elegant touch to the dining experience.

The Mastery of Savoury Delights

For the main course, guests relished either Herb Encrusted Rib Eye Steak or a Flame Grilled Shinynose, both expertly crafted by Chef Wole Oluwole Oshinloye. The Herb Encrusted Rib Eye Steak came with rich, creamy potatoes and steamed garden vegetables. It was enhanced by a reduction of carefully selected red wine jus, simmered to perfection. The dish was superbly paired with The Macallan Rare Cask 2022, which allowed the complex flavors of the whisky to accentuate the steak's taste.

Alternatively, guests indulged in the Flame Grilled Shinynose, an enticing seafood option. Served with fresh parsley butter potatoes and steamed garden vegetables, the Shinynose was enhanced by a velvety Béarnaise sauce. As with the Herb Encrusted Rib Eye Steak, this dish was also skillfully paired with The Macallan Rare Cask 2022, creating a harmonious interplay of flavors — think of it as a seafood symphony.

The Exquisite Finale

To cap off the extraordinary culinary journey, guests were treated to a classic Italian Tiramisu. Delicate layers of espresso-soaked ladyfingers were embraced by velvety mascarpone cream, culminating in a luscious and indulgent dessert. The Tiramisu was elegantly dusted with the finest Harrar cocoa powder, sourced from East Africa. Expertly paired with The Macallan Sherry Oak Cask 18 Years Old, the dessert and whisky combination offered an exquisite finale to the evening.
