I Eat at Chicken Republic Way More Than I’d Like to Admit & These Are the Best Combos
I know you read the title, but I’ll say it again: I eat at Chicken Republic way more than I should and I’m not ashamed of it. On the contrary, it’s something I am very proud of 🥳
I remember when Chicken Republic Ogba branch gave me T-Shirt last year November. That was when i knew i had to calm down with my patronage.

Over the years, I’ve tried a lot of different menu items, mostly because I simply detest ordering the same thing over and over at a restaurant/fast food place. Now, if you are a Chicken Republic regular, you’ve probably noticed that there are certain meal combos that just work, but maybe you sometimes find yourself there and you’re looking to try something new-ish.
You’re in luck! Because here’s a list of delicious combos that BANG 🔥
1. Wrapstar and Coleslaw
Hear me out. The Wrapstar, as it is so fondly called, is Chicken Republic’s chicken wrap. It is, unfortunately, one of the less popular options on the franchise’s menu because it’s more of a veggie wrap.
It is not shawarma and it will not taste like shawarma — PSA 😒 So lower your expectations and enjoy the Wrapstar for what it is.
Now, for my recommended combo. Pairing the Wrapstar with a bowl of cold coleslaw or their pasta salad, depending on your taste, changes the experience. With every bite of the wrap, take a forkful of coleslaw and run me my cheque later!
2. *Chickwizz, a piece of Fried Chicken and Ice Cream
Chickwizz is arguably Chicken Republic’s most popular item — okay, maybe after Refuel, sha. The chances of hearing a Chickwizz order right after “nice nice” are very high. Everyone loves the Chickwizz, or at least everyone has had it. At this point, it is almost a flagship Nigerian meal.
While the Chickwizz is great alone, my expert recommendation would be to pair it with a piece of chicken and ice cream. This glorious mix of hot, cold and spicy in your mouth is the best thing you’ll have this week. Call it whatever you like, I call it a chicken ice cream sandwich and I thoroughly enjoy it every time.
It’s a big meal, so I would advise getting a single Chickwizz instead of a double, just to size it down.
(*P.S. this is my favourite combo on the list.)
3. Big Boyz Meal
1 piece of chicken, coleslaw, Jollof or fried rice/spaghetti, 1 Chief Burger and a canned drink are all that constitute the Big Boyz meal. A fair amount of people know about this combo as it’s plain to see on the Chicken Republic menu, but I think more people should know about it. It’s yum.
As the name implies, this is a meal for the big boys. It will feed two people or one really hungry person, to the point where a little food baby is made. It’s a generous portion — the most generous on the menu, if I do say so myself, and I fully recommend it.
4. Rice and Beans, Plantain and Rotisserie Chicken
I remember when I found out that Chicken Republic had a rice and beans meal. What a day that was 🥰 We can all admit we’re a bit tired of settling for spicy rice every time we have to order from here. The rice and beans combo was a very welcome change.
Paired with a portion of cubed fried plantain, sold in the Sides section of the menu, and a piece of their rotisserie chicken, you’re guaranteed a very filling, tasty meal. This is the best and safest combination on my list, in my opinion.
P.S: If for whatever reason, you can’t stomach the idea of any of these combos, just choose your favourite from the options mentioned above and enjoy ✌🏾 Life is not that hard.
