BBNaija Star, Bisola Stars In New Food Movie & I'm Hyped To Watch It

If there’s anything I love more than food, that would be movies and TV shows. So, when I saw the trailer for This Lady Called Life, a film about a struggling chef working hard to make her dreams come true, I was really excited.

I was even more hyped to see the former Big Brother Naija stars, Bisola and Miyonse as some of the stars of the movie. You see, I am an avid consumer of TV shows and movies, from the Oscar-nominated flicks to the downright ratchet and messy TV shows, so BBNaija is not far from my radar.

Granted, we’ve said it countless times that Nollywood needs to step up its game in the portrayal of food in the movies and shows we consume, but EbonyLife’s 2018 release, The Royal Hibiscus Hotel, proves that we could be on the right track if necessary improvements are made.

Starring top Nollywood acts like Kunle Ojo, Bisola Aiyeola, Tina Mba and others, This Lady Called Life, follows the story of Aiye, a young, struggling, single mother and ambitious cook who hopes to become a renowned chef. The highlight of the trailer for me is the nod to Red Dish Culinary academy, which hints at Chef Stone’s involvement as a consultant on the set of the movie.

Although the movie is helmed by Sugar Rush director, Kayode Kasumu, I hope the movie does justice to the food and explores the culinary world within a scope that viewers can appreciate. I expect to see exciting shots of food, a cross-section of mouthwatering dishes and an entertaining backstory.

Whatever happens, I’ll be sharing my thoughts when the movie comes out in cinemas.

Until then, watch the trailer right here:
