Preparing for #EatDrinkAbuja: Meet the Vendors 3
It’s 9 days to go and we are still sooo excited because EatDrinkFestival Abuja is getting closer. It’s holding on Saturday June 8, 2019.
This is the 3rd instalment in the get to know our vendors series; see part 1 here and part 2 here.
Failure to plan is planning to fail and that’s why one of our top tips each year is to check out the menus of the vendors before the event. This way you can think about what you’re looking forward to and plan a budget along those lines.
Do you have any vendors you’re looking forward to? Let us know in the comments!
Entrees Cocktails
Instagram Handle: @entreescocktails
What to Expect: Entrees Cocktails will be bringing a twist to the #EatDrinkFestival. Instead of serving cocktail options, this vendor will be infusing its cocktails with shaved ice! Isn’t that exciting?
You can expect sweet and strong flavours. There will be fruit fusions as well so keep your eyes peeled!
What Would Denise Get? (WWDG): Tiger’s Blood. Off the menu, I find this name particularly intriguing. I can’t wait to casually ask people if they’ve had Tiger’s Blood while holding a poker face till they crack in confusion and bewilderment.
Cocktailvile & Chops
Instagram Handle: @cocktailville_n_chops
What to Expect: Nothing screams joy and happiness like a pack of small chops! Fluffy puff-puff, crunchy spring rolls and well spiced BBQ chicken are always a hit
What Would Denise Get? (WWDG): Small Chops. How do you go to a food fair and not try the small chops? That’s barbaric. Don’t be that person.
Keje Grill
Instagram Handle: @kejegrill
What to Expect: If you love spicy aromas and strong flavours, look no further than Keje Grill! You can expect classic grilled foods like chicken with a fusion of African roast favourites like yam and plantain.
What Would Denise Get? (WWDG): Keje Signature Chicken. They had me at chicken, honestly.
Buttercream Abuja
Instagram Handle: @buttercreamabuja
What to Expect: Dessert is one of my absolute favourite things in the world and Buttercream will be selling cakes and pastry by the slice at the Festival. Chocolate is also another favourite, so I naturally drawn to any pastry with that flavour.
What Would Oluwatobi Get? (WWOG): The Nutella banana bread and the salted caramel brownie both sound amazing
While you’re getting excited for the Festival, we’d like to remind you that EatDrinkAbuja is a completely cashless event so skip the queues and buy your event ticket online (N1000). This allows you to have access to the dedicated online ticket queue to pick up your wristband at the festival.
What Does a Cashless Event Mean?
Buy your event ticket and you get given a wristband that has a special RFID chip in it.
You can load your festival wristband with money (pay with cash or debit card) at the front desk or any of the top up stations around the festival.
The RFID chip in the wristband can be read by the special tablet device given to all vendors.
Once you have loaded funds onto your wristband, you can visit any of the food or drink vendors on-site. Let them know what you would like to purchase, they will tap the products on their device, and then scan your wristband in order to deduct the correct amount - and then it's time to enjoy your purchase!
It’s very fast and very easy. There are no issues with not having change or the POS network being down.
HOW DO I KNOW HOW MUCH I HAVE LEFT ON MY WRISTBAND?
You can simply ask any vendor or top-up staff member to scan your wristband to see how much credit you have remaining. After each transaction, the vendor will also show you the balance you have remaining.
