According to a couple of Lagos bakers, Valentine’s Day is the single biggest day of the year in their line of business. Christmas, Easter, New Year etc. are busy seasons but Valentine’s Day is all in one day.

Talindo Steakhouse

At Talindo, it’s an entire Valentine weekend with offerings running from the 14th to the 17th of February. We love that they have different levels to the packages so wherever your price point is, you can say it with something special.

In addition to their special Valentine’s Day decor, they will also give out Rosé’s specially to ladies per the tradition during this time of the year at Talindo.

Nok by Alara

Nok is not holding back this year and they’ve come up with a 10-item sharing menu for Valentine’s Day 2020. This menu has got almost everything on it including oxtail, fish, chicken and oysters too! If you want to show up and show out for Valentine’s this year, the answer is Nok. If you’re doing group dining, for example with parents or a group of couples, as this is a sharing menu, Nok’s also good for groups. It is N35,000 per person but it’s a lot of food.

HSE

If you live in Lekki, we advise you spend your Valentine’s Day in Lekki because trying to go anywhere else will result in traffic hooking you. Just stay where you are and enjoy dinner at the Eat.Drink.Lagos Restaurant of Year 2019 which also happens to be the best restaurant in Lekki (all facts, no cap).

This year, HSE is throwing it back to the 90s with their inspired menu, and celebrating #blacklove. To make it extra cheesy, the soundtrack for the night is ‘90s RnB too. The damage for this menu is N22,500 per person. We think it’s well worth it.

Vellvett

All the restaurants in the Blowfish group have recently undergone a menu revamp and Vellvett is no exception. This Valentine’s Day, Vellvett has prepared an accessible 3-course menu for the lovers at N35k per couple. It also includes a bottle of wine (N16k value).

La Taverna

“A Night of Love” may be corny AF but La Taverna is offering the most pocket-friendly Valentine’s Day 3-course meal we’ve seen that also includes wine. This is not the night to wing it people, make a reservation at your chosen restaurant, do not let it end in tears and you arguing with the hostess that you don’t understand how they are fully booked but the tables are empty.

Atmosphere Rooftop

Since Chef Imoteda became the head chef at Atmosphere, the food has become significantly better than the very mid-level it was before.

This Valentine’s Day, Atmosphere’s lover’s menu includes an entire bottle of wine so if for any reason your date is not meeting your conversation expectation, just drink the wine so everything their saying will start sounding funnier once you’re two glasses in.

Lastly, Atmosphere Rooftop also makes our list in order to provide an option for the “dinner under the stars” type. In fact, you will definitely need the cool breeze if Lagos traffic decided to wear two trousers throughout this week.

Thai Thai

Thai Thai is definitely for lovers too. Available alongside the regular menu, they’ve also curated a really special à la carte menu this Valentine's Day. Delivery is available all day with their regular menu too! So, if your girlfriend has another boyfriend that’s taking her out for dinner, you can still show her you care by sending her lunch in her office. Thai Thai will also include a beautiful handwritten note with the meal.

La Verandah

Again, if you’d prefer an option that doesn’t box you into a selected menu at a fixed price, La Verandah is offering their menu with a special Valentine’s Day twist including free roses*. La Verandah also recently renovated and the new restaurant is gorgeous.

*Ed Note (read: Nosa): Roses are known to go up to N6k per stem during Valentine’s Day so don’t say we never do anything for you guys.
