At Eat.Drink, we get to enjoy lots of great food that sometimes doesn’t make it on the Reviews list. So, we thought, what better way to honour these scrumptious nibbles and meals than with a bi-weekly post? Here’s a round-up of the very best of what the gang’s been eating lately.

MONDAY, 16TH MAY

What: Crêpes Suzette with an orange reserve and vanilla ice cream

Where: Noir

Location: 4a Akin Olugbade St, Victoria Island

Price: N6500

We love crepes, but can sometimes be a little suspicious of anything that’s doused in an orange sauce or drizzle (it can sometimes be overwhelming). This dessert proved us wrong in so many ways, though. And the vanilla ice cream? Perfection 🌟

What: Royal scrambled eggs taco

Where: SLoW

Location: 2 Musa Yar' Adua St, Victoria Island

Price: N7800

How many times do we need to say Lagos needs multiple SLoWs? When next you have some time to spare, stop by and try these breakfast tacos. Epic 🔥

WEDNESDAY, 18TH MAY

What: Deep dish blondie

Where: Sushiholic X BBQholic

Location: Block 26, Delakes Mall, 8 Admiralty Way, Eti-Osa, Lekki

Price: N4800

Like we said in the review, this dessert is a sweet tooth’s heaven. If a rich vanilla deep-dish cookie, with white chocolate chunks, vanilla ice cream and a caramel topping sounds like your kind of jam, there’s nothing left to be said.

There’s no way you’re only having 1 or 2 of these and walking away unscathed. As far as these French macarons are concerned, diet remains firmly in the murrrd.

THURSDAY, 19TH MAY

What: Abula

Where: Nok By Alara

Location: 12A Akin Olugbade St, Victoria Island

There was a time when we reserved Nok’s highly revered Abula (amala, ewedu, gbegiri and assorted meat) for Sunday brunch, until we thought: Well, this works perfectly for a work lunch on a Thursday as well 🥳🥳

What: Mexican pasta

Where: La Chaumiere

Location: 1384 Tiamiyu Savage Street, Victoria Island

Price: N6500

If you’re looking to enjoy a hearty bowl of well done tomato-ey pasta, La Chaumiere is the spot. Be sure to wear slightly loose pants, you’re going to need ’em!
