ALAT Is Challenging You To A Speed Eating Competition

As the world is slowly opening up and trying to make up for lost time because of the COVID-19 pandemic, ALAT by Wema has announced the first edition of its speed eating competition the #ALATFoodChallenge.

The competition which will launch on the app’s YouTube channel later this year is an avenue for young Nigerians to express their love for food by eating their way to ca$h. Challengers will go head to head to win a cash prize of 100,000 Naira. The Challenge? Eating a generous amount of food in the shortest possible time frame!

That doesn’t seem too hard right?

If you’re down you can apply to be featured on the show by signing up on the ALAT app using the code ‘SQUAD’. After you sign up, prospective challengers can check out ALAT’s pages on Instagram @alat_ng, and  ALAT by Wema on Facebook to complete the process. Successful applicants will be contacted by the bank.

The Food Challenge is a way for ALAT by Wema to tap into the Nigerian culture of cooking and appreciating good food, while also uplifting the spirits of young Nigerians who have experienced a tough year because of the pandemic.

According to Funmilayo Falola, Head, Marketing, Corporate Communications and Investor Relations, Wema Bank, One of the many things that we love as a nation is great food. We fully appreciate the culture of enjoying good food and the camaraderie of coming together to share. While we may not be able to gather in large numbers to break bread and laugh, this challenge is an opportunity to lift our spirits. It will be exciting to see how Nigerians will react to this contest, because if there is something we all culturally agree on, it is food.”
