Tolani's List: 2022 Guide to Valentine's Day

Okayy, I had to do this for  my fellow people in love and the singletons out there. No shade intended LOL.

If you're a lagosian you already know it's a struggle to get reservations on Valentine’s weekend. I'm here to guide you on where to go and you're guaranteed to have a swell time, get good food, enjoy an intimate space and have memorable day in the season of Love.

Let's start, shall we?

The Wine Lab

11A Goriola Street, Off Adeola Odeku Street, Victoria Island, Lagos

+234 703 286 3300

As the name suggests they serve the finest wine in Lagos. If you're into sharing a good bottle of wine with your loved one paired with amazing food with a side of very relaxed and calming ambience, you should definitely book a reservation here. One thing to be aware of is they have different opening times for different days of the week. You might want to check this also before making that reservation.

Oceans 5 by Riviera

20 Elsie Femi Pearse St, Victoria Island, Lagos

This is currently the restaurant for proposals in Lagos. The decor and aesthetic of this spot gives fine dining vibes. Not only is it aesthetically pleasing, they have great music and most importantly, delicious food. If you're thinking of popping the question this Valentine’s Day, this spot is where you should be. You’ll also need a reservation. Just a heads up.

Thai Thai

Flat 3, 2nd Floor, 16 Kofo Abayomi St, Victoria Island, Lagos

+234 909 117 2906

If you and your partner are foodies, trust me this is where you should be spending your Valentine’s dinner  because the food is good good. They serve Thai cuisine in the finest way possible. Their response time after placing an order is the fastest I've gotten In Lagos, so you can go on an empty belly (it's at your own risk tho LOL).

Kaly

7th Floor, 1235B Akin Adesola, off Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos

+234 809 205 5555

Fourth spot is Kaly, new spot but this place understands the assignment when it comes to ambience!! When your significant other takes a pic of you, angle or no angle, your pic will come out looking like it belongs in a magazine and this is not the best part of this place. The food is amazing!!! The drinks as well.

Talindo

7B Karimu Kotun St, Victoria Island, Lagos

+234 815 153 0000

Finally, Last spot I think you should definitely make a reservation for Valentine’s dinner is Talindo Steakhouse. This people understand the language of food. It's also set up in a way that the next couple won't hear your conversations, it's such a cosy space. Their biggest flex is they serve the best steak in Lagos. It's not necessarily the most aesthetically pleasing place but the good food makes up for it.
