Tolani's List: My Favourite Breakfast Spots in Lagos

If I’m being honest, breakfast is not that exciting.

Yeah, drag me 🙄

Now that i’ve gotten my hot take out of the way, let’s get to it. Here are three spots in Lagos with breakfast menus live up to the hype.

Cactus

20/24 Ozumba Mbadiwe Rd, Victoria Island, Lagos

Located in the heart of Victoria Island, Cactus is one of the best spots for breakfast in this state of ours.

(Nosa’s Note: Strongly disagree. Cactus and I have beef)

Sunday breakfast at Cactus throws me back to my early 2000's brunches at Mr. Biggs with my Aunty Folake. The restaurant is always packed! And it’s for good reason because it is so damn awesome.

My go-to breakfast at Cactus is always their homemade waffles served with Nutella, caramel sauce, chocolate sauce, caramel nuts, and strawberries.

This combo is so good and makes me literally do my happy dance. Any time I visit, the ice cream bar at the entrance forever grabs my attention, they have an amazing menu. I love to sit in the outdoor section because of the water view, it is relaxing and calm. My only reservation  about this spot is that the waiters don’t attend fast to customers seated outside as opposed to those inside.

Breakfast at Cactus will set you back about N8,000 - N12,000, but it’s worth it because their servings are VERY generous.

Cafeteria.ng

16 Akin Adesola St, Victoria Island, Lagos

The next spot on my list is Cafeteria.ng. The space is super cozy and it is perfect for pictures. From brunch dates with bae or with the girls to breakfast meetings, Cafeteria is always fit for purpose.

It doesn’t get a lot of noise, but cappuccino at Cafeteria is amazing. I ALWAYS get it with the French toast and fresh berries.

The breakfast menu pretty extensive too. They even have avocado toast and açaí bowls. Compared to Cactus, Cafeteria doesn’t cost a pretty penny. It’ll only set you back N6,000 - N10,000.

As an aside, the lemon pepper wings are also pretty great. I always order this as takeout.

Pancake Hub

17 Jibowu St, Jibowu, Lagos

The third spot is a place dear to my heart because it is pocket friendly. DO NOT JUDGE ME!

Whenever I’m on a budget, I always hit up Pancake Hub. The ambience of the place is a big zero but they know what matters when it comes to stories regarding my stomach.

Pancake Hub is a bit difficult to locate because there's no signage but shoutout to Google.

As the name suggests, Pancake Hub is strictly about pancakes but there are a couple of sides available e.g nuggets, bacon, hotdogs, baked beans, and the like. They make the fluffiest pancakes and their customer service is top-notch too.

They only offer an outdoor sitting area, so depending on the time of the day, you might have a second guest flying over your food but apart from this, I LOVE THIS SPOT.

Just don't go in expecting to get insta-friendly pictures, but they make for it with the price. It’ll only set you back N3,000 - N6,000.

Anyway, that’s my list. What’s your favourite breakfast spot in Lagos?
