I visited Moonshine after a tedious day so I was in the right mood for something to soothe the spirit. Immediately you walk into Moonshine, you’re hit by the smell of fresh pastry. The space is super creative and has the coolest decor too.

The menu at Moonshine is extensive,  they have what I call options! The red velvet cookies caught my eye when I walked in so I decided to start with dessert. The cookie wasn't as chewy as I expected but consistency was not bad at all. I had this with the salted caramel milkshake and I was in creamy heaven. The milkshake was a solid 10/10. I might have just found the best milkshake in Lagos.

For my main, I wanted to try the pasta and something else so I opted for their Spicy Asun Pasta and the Banga Pilaf. I've never had banga in my life so I needed to satisfy my curiosity. The spicy asun pasta was a solid 10/10. I’d totally recommend. Literally have nothing bad to say about it. 

The Banga Pilaf was lemon grass rice with Banga on the side and fish in batter. The portions were for the rice and the Banga were super generous. I went in for the fish in batter first and It was a burst of flavor. Crispy, yet tender, the fish just melts in your mouth. I loved it. The lemon grass rice was so good on its own that I wouldn’t even mind if it was a solo main. 

The Banga was a hit for me. I honestly cannot believe I’ve made it this far in life without trying Banga and none of my friends thought to change that. Pairing it with the lemongrass rice was an absolute masterstroke by Moonshine. 

I absolutely loved Moonshine. it’s definitely getting a revisit from me.
