The 2019 EatDrinkFestival: What is New?
EatDrinkFestival started in 2015 and it’s been a party ever since!
Each year, we always try to improve on the festival experience. This is in terms of adding new experiences and fixing previous challenges. The guest experience to us will always be the most important thing at the event and we will continue to optimize for that year after year.
This year we are thrilled about our new venue as well as the two dynamic experiences, we are adding to the Festival.
The Venue
If you’ve been following EatDrinkFestival since 2015, you’d definitely know we’ve moved year after year in pursuit of the perfect location. Our considerations are always the size of the property, good access roads, and the availability of parking.
We’re so glad that EatDrinkFestival has a new and permanent home. EatDrinkFestival will take place at Marina Road (opposite the Federal Ministry of Justice). The exact location of the Festival can also be seen in the Google Maps image below.
We’re particularly excited about this location because of the opportunities it affords us in traffic management and parking. Marina road is a one-way road which already helps traffic flow in a singular direction which prevents congestion at intersections. Just like last year, we will deploy a ton of traffic control officers to keep traffic moving swiftly, and police officers to keep the area secure.
Generous parking is available at the two parking lots highlighted in the image below. These are the parking lots opposite the Bank of Industry and Shell Nigeria.
The Music
Year after year, guests always stick around beyond the official Festival hours and we’ve sometimes just simply turned off the music to get tear down going. We know that’s no fun and that’s why we’ve extended the Festival hours in order to have a PARTY headlined by our fave - Niniola. We’ve also carefully selected our DJs who will keep the vibes going all day.
The Workshops
With the intention of sparking creativity, imparting skills, and engaging Festival attendees in a more meaningful way, EatDrinkFestival is thrilled to announce the addition of the Festival Workshops to the line up this year.
We will still have the masterclasses, competitions, and demonstrations on the main stage, but we really wanted to give an opportunity to festival-goers to get into a small group and learn something super cool that they could use in their day to day lives.
In four unique workshops, Festival attendees of all ages and with varied interests will have the opportunity to participate in a hands-on workshop led by industry experts. More information about the workshops available at EatDrinkFestival can be found here.
EatDrinkFestival 2019 will certainly be our best one yet. We know we say this every year but it’s true because every EatDrinkFestival is an improvement on the previous one.
